For this particular section we're going to let our bias show a bit more. You can compare the design of similar Hyundai and Toyota vehicles below, but it is our belief that Hyundai is vastly superior when it comes to design. While Toyota models look fine, they do seem to utilize more plastic and have a bit more of a utilitarian style to them. Put simply, the design of Toyota is just a bit plain for our taste. Look at the Tucson and Rav4, for instance. The RAV4, which has been recently redesigned, still looks like just about every other compact SUV out there. It's not a bad design, but it's just plain in our opinion. The Tucson, with its parametric hidden light design, offers something that stands out in the best way possible. We won't fault you for going with the plain Jane Toyota style, but if you want a vehicle that turns heads, Hyundai is the choice..

Toyota has a decent advantage if you are in the market for a truck or a van. While Hyundai does make a truck, it comes in the form of an SUV-truck crossover as the Santa Cruz. This is more comparable to the smaller Toyota truck, the Tacoma. The Tacoma is more of a traditional truck with a longer bed length, although you might be surprised by the overall performance of the Santa Cruz. Toyota also offers the Tundra, which is a full-size truck that is comparable to models like the Ford F150. If this is what you're after, unfortunately Hyundai currently doesn't offer a model with those capabilities. As far as vans go, there is nothing to compare, as Toyota makes the Sienna, and Hyundai does not offer a van, although with an SUV like the Hyundai Palisade, you can get van-like passenger space in an SUV body.
