The arrival of new 2016 Sonata's with support for Apple CarPlay is just around the corner. The smarter and safer way to use an iPhone in your car, Apple CarPlay offers in-cabin connectivity to messages, streaming audio, maps, and more. This morning Hyundai announced via a press release that the new models are currently being manufactured.

“Sonatas with CarPlay are rolling off our assembly line in Montgomery, Alabama, and arriving at Hyundai dealerships nationwide,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Not only is Sonata built in America, it also is built with a high technology experience in mind.”

Apple CarPlay offers iPhone users a comfortable interface that is immediately recognizable. Siri provides an eye free method of interacting with the phone by responding to voice requests. Using the voice button integrated on the steering wheel, drivers can get driving directions, listen to music, and more. CarPlay uses the Lightning connector, and works with iPhone 5 and newer models running iOS 7.1 or higher.
